Nuclear Security Summit:
- World leaders at a summit on nuclear security in Washington have heard dire warnings of the danger of nuclear material falling into the wrong hands. President of the United States Barack Obama opening the biggest international meeting hosted by the US since 1945, greets leaders from nearly 50 countries. (BBC News)
- The Georgian president, Mikheil Saakashvili, has told fellow leaders at the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington that his government has thwarted an attempt to sell highly-enriched uranium on the black market last month. (The Guardian)
- Hu Jintao, President of the People's Republic of China, meets with President Barack Obama to discuss Iran's nuclear program. (CNN)
A bar of radioactive Cobalt-60 found in a New Dehli market causes life-threatening radiation sickness in one person and contingency measures from the authorities. ("The Faster Times")

Declaration of 'We the People'

Let it be known that We the People of this land commonly known as CANADA, stand in recognition of the true principle that whenever a government abandons the purpose for which we have created it and even becomes hostile towards that which it was once a defender of, it is no longer a fit steward of the political power that is inherent in the people and lent to this government with strict conditions. These conditions are defined in the Canadian Bill of Rights, Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the Constitution Act of 1982. Furthermore, to the extent that our government violates these conditions, they nullify their own authority. At which point it is our right and duty to entrust this power to new stewards who will not depart from the laws that we have give them. This being the case let it be known; that should our government seek to tax, restrict or otherwise impose on any of the rights that should not be infringed, thus impairing our ability to exercise our God given rights to life, liberty, property and defend against such impairments, which precedes all human legislation and is superior to it, that the duty of us good and faithful people will not be to obey them but to alter or abolish them and institute new governments laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form as to us shall seem most likely to affect our safety and happiness.
