The ISS serves as a research laboratory that has a microgravity environment in which crews conduct experiments in biology, human biology, physics, astronomy and meteorology. The station has a unique environment for the testing of the spacecraft systems that will be required for missions to the Moon and Mars.
|Station elements as of 18 May 2010 (2010 -05-18)[update]|
The ISS is operated by Expedition crews, with the station programme maintaining an uninterrupted human presence in space since the launch of Expedition 1 on 31 October 2000, a total of &0000000000000009.0000009 years and &0000000000000227.000000227 days. The programme is thus approaching the current record, set aboard Mir, of 3,644 days (8 days short of 10 years), with the ISS expected to take the record on 23 October 2010. As of 17 March 2010 (2010 -03-17)[update], the crew of Expedition 23 is aboard.
The station is maintained at an orbit between 278 km (173 mi) and 460 km (286 mi) altitude, and travels at an average speed of 27,724 km/h (17,227 mph), completing 15.7 orbits per day.

God Is Not One
The Eight Rival Religions That Run the World--and Why Their Differences Matter
Stephen Prothero, the New York Times bestselling author of Religious Literacy, makes a fresh and provocative argument that, contrary to popular understanding, all religions are not simply different paths to the same end… and why this matters greatly for us. Readers of Huston Smith and Karen Armstrong will find much to ponder in God Is Not One.
At the dawn of the twenty-first century, dizzying scientific and technological advancements, interconnected globalized economies, and even the so-called New Atheists have done nothing to change one thing: our world remains furiously religious. For good and for evil, religion is the single greatest influence in the world. We accept as self-evident that competing economic systems (capitalist or communist) or clashing political parties (Republican or Democratic) propose very different solutions to our planet's problems. So why do we pretend that the world's religious traditions are different paths to the same God? We blur the sharp distinctions between religions at our own peril, argues religion scholar Stephen Prothero, and it is time to replace naïve hopes of interreligious unity with deeper knowledge of religious differences.
In Religious Literacy, Prothero demonstrated how little Americans know about their own religious traditions and why the world's religions should be taught in public schools. Now, in God Is Not One, Prothero provides readers with this much-needed content about each of the eight great religions. To claim that all religions are the same is to misunderstand that each attempts to solve a different human problem. For example:
Prothero reveals each of these traditions on its own terms to create an indispensable guide for anyone who wants to better understand the big questions human beings have asked for millennia—and the disparate paths we are taking to answer them today. A bold polemical response to a generation of misguided scholarship, God Is Not One creates a new context for understanding religion in the twenty-first century and disproves the assumptions most of us make about the way the world's religions work.
“Provocative, thoughtful, fiercely intelligent and, for both believing and nonbelieving, formal and informal students of religion, a must-read.”
— Booklist“An urgently needed and very nicely done corrective to politically correct nonsense.”
— Rodney Stark, author of Discovering God: The Origins of the Great Religions and the Evolution of Faith“Stephen Prothero has done it again. This is a powerfully-written, paradigm-shifting book. How religious differences can be a bridge of cooperation rather than a bomb of destruction is one of the most important challenges of our era, and Prothero is as good a guide as you will find.”
— Eboo Patel, founder and executive director of Interfaith Youth Core and author of Acts of Faith“This book could well be the most highly readable, accurate, and up-to-date introduction to the world’s major religions.”
— Harvey Cox, Hollis Research Professor of Divinity, Harvard University, and author of The Future of Faith“A very much needed book!”

The following image will head up each of these messages at the request of Father God. For those unfamiliar with it, it is part of Michelangelo's paintings on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in The Vatican.Today is Sunday, 13 June 2010 and I’m here to take Father God's message for today, and he is saying;
We are excited by how many people are becoming aware of the power of the energies that will be coming forth with this solstice (June 21st, 2010). It is a message that needs to be spread as far and wide as possible, so I ask you that if you have friends or lists of contacts who may be interested in understanding what is unfolding, that you share this message with them, forward this message to them so that they are aware. Point them to the message that Richard and Carolyn and have put out regarding the messages from Jeshua and Mother Mary in regard to this solstice.
And I say this because it truly is a powerful moment. As Jeshua said, the energies coming forth with this solstice are the most powerful to come to your planet since those associated with The Fall in Atlanta some 13,000 years ago. That is no small statement to make, and so you could also say they are perhaps on an individual level, the most powerful energies to come to the planet before the next time you are in alignment with Galactic centre which will be that date that you know about, that solstice of December 2012.
So it is a key moment, a key moment where the activities truly get ramped up in preparation for that moment in 2012. So take the opportunity to alert as many people as you can about what is coming. It is important. Many will be shaken up by these energies in various ways and the more that people can be prepared, the better off they will be. So I encourage you to take this opportunity and this is my message to you today. Alert those that are open.
Do not get caught in your own fear and try to, you could say ram it down the throats of people who don't have a connection with their spiritual basis, you could say. Let them walk their own paths. It's important always to do this and as you walk your journey and as you become more aware of what's unfolding, simply be the best example you can be. Know that the mechanisms are in place to alert all of humanity one way or another to what is happening. And so simply be there for them when they begin to ask. Be the best example you can be. So only share this with those who have some opening to this information. The others will awaken in due course in one way or another. So this is my message to you today.
And so it is.
Carolyn - Dear Father God, I thank you for the message that you brought forward today, and it brings up a thought that I would like some clarification on, and what everybody is saying – Jeshua, Mother Mary and you - is that the energies from the solstice are going to be very powerful indeed and you mentioned that Jeshua states that it will be the most powerful energies since Atlantis. So I would like for you to give us some input as to the effects that these energies will have upon the human body, the energy field of the body, the emotional body and I’m also sensing that it will have some effect on the mind; and if you would address that also. If people had some sense of what is before them, they would have a better understanding of what to expect. Thank you.
As Mother Mary has said, the energies that will come forth will change, to some extent the nature of all particles on the planet. These energies will reduce the denseness of matter on the planet. As you know, with The Fall in Atlantis the denseness of the, not only the human physical body, but indeed all matter upon your planet was increased to a level that is the most dense where life of the form of a human being exists, and indeed there were concerns that humanity would not survive these very dense energies. But you did and so this is, you could say a small step towards returning to the density that existed before The Fall and indeed where you will return to with the Ascension process in early 2013, and indeed the energies of the December 2012 solstice will dramatically shift this density.
And so it is from that point of view that you should look at the impact of these energies, because humanity in general does not understand what the impact of changing this density means. Mother Mary spoke about changing this density would allow more light between the particles and that it in essence is, in other words opening up the spiritual abilities of humanity, the ability to bring forth or express more of the spiritual aspects, the spiritual nature. It will trigger the reawakening of memory at a far more rapid rate. Some of you are aware that your skills and abilities that you have forgotten, both from past lives and that you possess as a soul, that those skills and abilities are connected to your memories, and so these energies will allow the reawakening of much more of your skills and abilities.
It will not be an instant thing and not all will acknowledge it; and there are some on your planet who will perhaps not even be consciously aware of what these energies are doing, and indeed there are a small few who will be so impacted by these energies that they may not survive the experience. I do not say this to create fear. I simply mention this so that you understand the intensity of them. They have been made as powerful as we feel they can be to ensure that there is an end to the interference by the dark upon your planet.
So most people will feel quite disoriented by these energies and as a I say, as the possibility of more light between the particles opens up, so it will impact the understanding of so many of humanity of who and what they are. Memories will start to return. People will begin to remember their past lives much more readily. The connection to the monad, which is the totality of your soul, if you like that was created by the Creator, that connection will open up quite significantly and relatively quickly after these energies come forth, and this is the doorway to memory and to skills and abilities. So it is primarily this change in the spacing of the particles, the density if you will, of matter upon your planet and of the physical body. That is the key change. Everything else flows from this.
And so it is.

[Washington, DC] - The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today issued the following statement in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia: "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia totally and categorically denies accounts published by a British newspaper regarding contacts with Israel or permission to use Saudi airspace for any hostile activities. The Kingdom is greatly puzzled by the publication of this false information, which directly contradicts the established, firm and clear policies of the Saudi government regarding relations with the occupying government of Israel and the Kingdom's prohibition against the use of its territories or airspace for aggression against another nation."
Yet again, disinformation is put out.
Saudi Arabia gives Israel clear skies to attack Iranian nuclear sites
“The Saudis have given their permission for the Israelis to pass over and they will look the other way,” said a US defence source in the area. “They have already done tests to make sure their own jets aren’t scrambled and no one gets shot down. This has all been done with the agreement of the [US] State Department.”
Sources in Saudi Arabia say it is common knowledge within defence circles in the kingdom that an arrangement is in place if Israel decides to launch the raid. Despite the tension between the two governments, they share a mutual loathing of the regime in Tehran and a common fear of Iran’s nuclear ambitions. “We all know this. We will let them [the Israelis] through and see nothing,” said one.
The four main targets for any raid on Iran would be the uranium enrichment facilities at Natanz and Qom, the gas storage development at Isfahan and the heavy-water reactor at Arak. Secondary targets include the lightwater reactor at Bushehr, which could produce weapons-grade plutonium when complete.
The targets lie as far as 1,400 miles (2,250km) from Israel; the outer limits of their bombers’ range, even with aerial refuelling. An open corridor across northern Saudi Arabia would significantly shorten the distance. An airstrike would involve multiple waves of bombers, possibly crossing Jordan, northern Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Aircraft attacking Bushehr, on the Gulf coast, could swing beneath Kuwait to strike from the southwest.
Passing over Iraq would require at least tacit agreement to the raid from Washington. So far, the Obama Administration has refused to give its approval as it pursues a diplomatic solution to curbing Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Military analysts say Israel has held back only because of this failure to secure consensus from America and Arab states. Military analysts doubt that an airstrike alone would be sufficient to knock out the key nuclear facilities, which are heavily fortified and deep underground or within mountains. However, if the latest sanctions prove ineffective the pressure from the Israelis on Washington to approve military action will intensify. Iran vowed to continue enriching uranium after the UN Security Council imposed its toughest sanctions yet in an effort to halt the Islamic Republic’s nuclear programme, which Tehran claims is intended for civil energy purposes only. President Ahmadinejad has described the UN resolution as “a used handkerchief, which should be thrown in the dustbin”.
Israeli officials refused to comment yesterday on details for a raid on Iran, which the Prime Minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, has refused to rule out. Questioned on the option of a Saudi flight path for Israeli bombers, Aharaon Zeevi Farkash, who headed military intelligence until 2006 and has been involved in war games simulating a strike on Iran, said: “I know that Saudi Arabia is even more afraid than Israel of an Iranian nuclear capacity.”
In 2007 Israel was reported to have used Turkish air space to attack a suspected nuclear reactor being built by Iran’s main regional ally, Syria. Although Turkey publicly protested against the “violation” of its air space, it is thought to have turned a blind eye in what many saw as a dry run for a strike on Iran’s far more substantial — and better-defended — nuclear sites.
Israeli intelligence experts say that Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan are at least as worried as themselves and the West about an Iranian nuclear arsenal.Israel has sent missile-class warships and at least one submarine capable of launching a nuclear warhead through the Suez Canal for deployment in the Red Sea within the past year, as both a warning to Iran and in anticipation of a possible strike. Israeli newspapers reported last year that high-ranking officials, including the former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, have met their Saudi Arabian counterparts to discuss the Iranian issue. It was also reported that Meir Dagan, the head of Mossad, met Saudi intelligence officials last year to gain assurances that Riyadh would turn a blind eye to Israeli jets violating Saudi airspace during the bombing run. Both governments have denied the reports.

Abu Dhabi Media website The National has disclosed some rather disturbing news about peace "prospects" in the middle east. It appears this past Friday saw a war council convene in Damascus, between Syrian president Bashar al Assad, Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Hizbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah to "devise counterattack plans and assign tasks in the event of an Israeli offensive on one or all parties, wrote Abdelbari Atwan, the editor-in-chief of the pan-Arab newspaper Al Quds al Arabi." And more troublingly, "the Iranian president said he expects war to break out somewhere between spring and summer of this year. Meanwhile, the Hizbollah chief vowed to strike the Israeli capital, its airports and power stations if Israel dared to attack Beirut’s critical infrastructure."Let's recall that Goldman's most recent 2010 and 2011 WTI estimates call for prices to rise to $90 and $110/bbl, respectively.
More from The National:
“The timing of the meeting, the way it was undertaken and the ensuing press conference that was held at its conclusion, all point to a strategic coalition being reinforced. This is the build-up of a new front that will spearhead the confrontation with the US-Israeli alliance and whichever Arab countries that may, expressly or implicitly, be affiliated with it.”“Indeed, we are being exposed to a new discourse here, an unprecedented sense of self-confidence and an unheard-of preparedness for retaliation.”
What is more troubling for the US is that any potential effort to rekindle a relationship with Iran is now dead and burred, as the new axis seems to involve exclusively Syria.
For its part, the Syrian leadership appears to have made up its mind to close off the US administration’s “trite and cheap” flirtation with Damascus and opted for bolstering its tactical partnership with Tehran.
Surely this is now just another white swan in a sea of black, which has been duly factored in to various asset prices and what not

The war began as planned. The Israeli pilots took off well before dawn and streaked across Lebanon and northern Iraq, high above Kirkuk. Flying US-made F-15 and F-16s, the Israelis separated over the mountains of western Iran, the pilots gesturing a last minute show of confidence in their mission, maintaining radio silence.
Just before the sun rose over Tehran, moments before the Muslim call to prayer, the missiles struck their targets. While US Air Force AWACS planes circled overhead¨Clistening, watching, recording¨Cheavy US bombers followed minutes later. Bunker-busters and mini-nukes fell on dozens of targets while Iranian anti-aircraft missiles sped skyward.
The ironically named Bushehr nuclear power plant crumbled to dust. Russian technicians and foreign nationals scurried for safety. Most did not make it.
Targets in Saghand and Yazd, all of them carefully chosen many months before by Pentagon planners, were destroyed. The uranium enrichment facility in Natanz; a heavy water plant and radioisotope facility in Arak; the Ardekan Nuclear Fuel Unit; the Uranium Conversion Facility and Nuclear Technology Center in Isfahan; were struck simultaneously by USAF and Israeli bomber groups.
The Tehran Nuclear Research Center, the Tehran Molybdenum, Iodine and Xenon Radioisotope Production Facility, the Tehran Jabr Ibn Hayan Multipurpose Laboratories, the Kalaye Electric Company in the Tehran suburbs were destroyed.
Iranian fighter jets rose in scattered groups. At least those Iranian fighter planes that had not been destroyed on the ground by swift and systematic air strikes from US and Israeli missiles. A few Iranian fighters even launched missiles, downing the occasional attacker, but American top guns quickly prevailed in the ensuing dogfights.
The Iranian air force, like the Iranian navy, never really knew what hit them. Like the slumbering US sailors at Pearl Harbor, the pre-dawn, pre-emptive attack wiped out fully half the Iranian defense forces in a matter of hours.
By mid-morning, the second and third wave of US/Israeli raiders screamed over the secondary targets. The only problem now, the surprising effectiveness of the Iranian missile defenses. The element of surprise lost, US and Israeli warplanes began to fall from the skies in considerable numbers to anti-aircraft fire.
At 7:35 AM, Tehran time, the first Iranian anti-ship missile destroyed a Panamanian oil tanker, departing from Kuwait and bound for Houston. Launched from an Iranian fighter plane, the Exocet split the ship in half and set the ship ablaze in the Strait of Hormuz. A second and third tanker followed, black smoke billowing from the broken ships before they blew up and sank. By 8:15 AM, all ship traffic on the Persian Gulf had ceased.
US Navy ships, ordered earlier into the relative safety of the Indian Ocean, south of their base in Bahrain, launched counter strikes. Waves of US fighter planes circled the burning wrecks in the bottleneck of Hormuz but the Iranian fighters had fled.
At 9 AM, Eastern Standard Time, many hours into the war, CNN reported a squadron of suicide Iranian fighter jets attacking the US Navy fleet south of Bahrain. Embedded reporters aboard the ships sending live feeds directly to a rapt audience of Americans just awakening reported all of the Iranian jets destroyed, but not before the enemy planes launched dozens of Exocet and Sunburn anti-ship missiles. A US aircraft carrier, cruiser and two destroyers suffered direct hits. The cruiser blew up and sank, killing 600 men. The aircraft carrier sank an hour later.
By mid-morning, every military base in Iran was partially or wholly destroyed.
Sirens blared and fires blazed from hundreds of fires. Explosions rocked Tehran and the electrical power failed. The Al Jazeerah news station in Tehran took a direct hit from a satellite bomb, leveling the entire block.
At 9:15 AM, Baghdad time, the first Iranian missile struck the Green Zone.
For the next thirty minutes a torrent of missiles landed on GPS coordinates carefully selected by Shiite militiamen with cell phones positioned outside the Green Zone and other permanent US bases. Although US and Israeli bomber pilots had destroyed 90% of the Iranian missiles, enough Shahabs remained to fully destroy the Green Zone, the Baghdad airport, and a US Marine base.
Thousands of unsuspecting US soldiers died in the early morning barrage.
Not surprisingly, CNN and Fox withheld the great number of casualties from American viewers.
By 9:30 AM, gas stations on the US east coast began to raise their prices. Slowly at first and then altogether in a panic, the prices rose. $4 a gallon, and then $5 and then $6, the prices skyrocketed. Worried motorists, rushing from work, roared into the nearest gas station, radios blaring the latest reports of the pre-emptive attack on Iran. While fistfights broke out in gas stations everywhere, the third Middle Eastern war had begun.
In Washington DC, the spin began minutes after the first missile struck its intended target. The punitive strike¨Cnot really a war said the harried White House spokesman¨Cwould further democracy and peace in the Middle East.
Media pundits mostly followed the party line. By ridding Iran of weapons of mass destruction, Hillary Clinton declared confidently on CNN, Iran might follow in the footsteps of Iraq, and enjoy the hard won fruits of freedom.
The president scheduled a speech at 2 PM. Gas prices rose another two dollars before then. China and Japan threatened to dump US dollars. Gold rose $120 an ounce. The dollar plummeted against the Euro.
CNN reported violent, anti-American protests in Paris, London, Rome, Berlin and Dublin. Fast food franchises throughout Europe, carrying American corporate logos, were firebombed.
A violent coup toppled the pro-American Pakistan president. On the New York Stock Exchange, prices fell in a frenzy of trading¨Cexcept for the major petroleum producers. A single, Iranian Shahab missile struck Tel Aviv, destroying an entire city block. Israel vowed revenge, and threatened a nuclear strike on Tehran, before a hastily called UN General Assembly in New York City eased tensions.
An orange alert in New York City suddenly reddened to a full-scale terror alarm when a package detonated on a Manhattan subway. Mayor declared martial law. Governor ordered the New York National Guard fully mobilized, mobilizing what few national guardsmen remained in the state.
President Obama looked shaken at 2 PM. The scroll below the TV screen reported Persian Gulf nations halting production of oil until the conflict could be resolved peacefully. Venezuelan president, Hugo Chavez, announced a freeze in oil deliveries to the US would begin immediately. Tony Blair offered to mediate peace negotiations, between the US and Israel and Iran, but was resoundingly rejected.
By 6 PM, Eastern Standard Time, gas prices had stabilized at just below $10 a gallon. A Citgo station in Texas, near Fort Sam Houston Army base, was firebombed. No one claimed responsibility. Terrorism was not ruled out.
At sunset, the call to prayer¨C
in Tehran, Baghdad, Islamabad, Ankara, Jerusalem, Jakarta, Riyadh¨Csounded uncannily like the buzzing of enraged bees.

The artillery shells rained down on villages Sunday where Kurdish rebels were thought to be operating, said Jabbar Yawer.
The artillery targeted villages in the Balakiyaki border area, about 125 km (77 miles) northeast of Irbil province.
The barrage began late Saturday and continued until Sunday morning, Yawer said. A number of farms in the villages were heavily damaged, Yawer said.
The Kurdish rebels, known as the Party of Free Life of Kurdistan, or PEJAK, are believed to be based in the region. In the past week, Iranian artillery also fired on other villages, but no casualties were reported, Yawer said.
I am surprised we are letting this happen and not using it as an excuse to retaliate.

(CNN) -- After five months of negotiations, ten emergency budget extensions and a threat of a government shutdown, New York lawmakers were still not close to approving a new budget, Gov. David Paterson's office said Friday.
Over the past 30 years, the New York state budget has been approved on time just four times, but a shutdown would be unprecedented, and its ramifications are unclear. A senior Paterson administration official said that a conference call took place on Thursday "providing guidance" to state agencies on how to prepare in the event that Monday's vote fails.
"We're not going to let prisoners out of prison, but it's certainly going to be an urgent situation when police, firefighters, emergency services workers are not going to be able to perform their jobs," Paterson told reporters Friday. "We don't have the resources to afford the gasoline that goes in the cars that they drive, the public vehicles."
"This is a formidable situation of unimaginable consequences," he said.
This year, the state government is 2 1/2 months late in approving a 2010 budget and has been getting by on weekly extensions. The extensions have easily passed the Assembly, where Democrats have more than a 2/3rd majority.
But with only a two-vote edge in the state senate -- and Democratic senators threatening to break ranks and vote no on a new extension Monday -- the government could come to a screeching halt when the present extension expires at 12 a.m. Tuesday.
"I'm not voting for an extension if there are any new cuts involved," said Bronx Democratic Sen. Ruben Diaz. "For 10 weeks I've been cutting services to my people. For ten weeks I've been saying 'Yes Sir,' and I can't continue."
Another Bronx senator, Pedro Espada, was hopeful that the bill would pass but adamant about his stand.
"This is not a game of chicken," he said. "We cannot continue to hurt the most vulnerable. The sky won't fall. It won't be doomsday."
The Republican minority in the senate has been voting as a bloc against the extensions. Unless some of their proposals -- such as cuts to Mental Health and Social Services -- are "embraced," Senate Republican spokesman Scott Reif said they will continue to reject the bill.
The Democrats are ignoring us, and now that two rogue senators are threatening to shut down government, they've come to us for help," he said. "They have ignored us up to now."
The Republicans are "playing Russian Roulette with someone else's head," said Austin Shafran, spokesman for the senate's Democratic leader, Sen. John Sampson. Shafran said he was confident the extension would pass Monday.
"Senator Sampson has always gotten 32 votes and is confident he will we get our 32 votes," he said.
Paterson's spokeswoman, Jessica Bassett, said that the governor "is not going to get into horse trading. He's interested in a responsible budget."
There is much change in your world; much change. Humanity is beginning to show signs of awakening to the abuses that it has been subject to for a very long time. We have begun to see so many people beginning to realise what abuses have been allowed in the name of drilling for oil. Reports have come forth about how the approval process for this drilling by BP was simply a rubberstamp process, that the names on the forms, in one case the individual was dead by the time the application was submitted and the so-called experts referred to were no longer in their roles at the universities. It is just a beautiful illustration of how all of this process of check and balance has been completely bypassed by those who should be held accountable. Reports coming forth that no money has been spent whatsoever on systems that might deal with a blowout in a well such as this, beca use of course that would impact the profit coming forth.
And realisations have begun to settle about how the consequences of events such as this begin to percolate through the fabric of society. So many people have their pension funds connected to the success of companies and the success of the stock market and as these structures begin to fall apart as they will do, as the truth begins to come forth, not only because of the abuses of the oil companies but also the abuses within the stock market itself, that this will flow through and impact so many people, begin to impact so much of the fabric of what you call society. More and more people are questioning the, you could say morals and integrity of the Catholic Church as these abuses of children have come forth; not only the abuses but the extent of the cover-up, the protection within the organisation itself. And so we will see more and more of this kind of evidence of what has been played out behind the scenes comes forth.
And I raise this because this is a very necessary aspect of the preparation for what is unfolding. I and others have said how the secrets of both the light and the dark will come forth as we approach the end of 2012, and what you are seeing here is the emergence of the evidence of the activities of the dark. It is inevitable. It must happen. Humanity needs to understand the nature and some of the detail of what has been perpetrated upon them, and in parallel with this, we will begin to see the emergence of the true aspects of the light, the threads that will lead to the blossoming that will come forth as you all prepare, those who choose to, for those energies that arrive upon your planet with that December solstice of 2012. And so I bring this to your awareness.
Mother Mary’s recent message that Carolyn and Richard shared about the coming Earth changes are also connected to this. And this is not a message to engender fear of any sort. It is simply to alert you to what is beginning to unfold, and I would reinforce what Mother Mary had to say, and that is that those who are choosing their relationship with their Creator and choosing to prepare will be protected. You have nothing to fear. Indeed more than that, the things that you need to support you in your life will begin to come forth. It is a time of truly great change that is about to begin with this solstice that is to arrive upon your planet very shortly. A time of truly great change and I will speak more about this as we approach this time, and I do this because the more that you are prepared for this and the more you understand the choice that awaits you, the better you will be able to understand what is beginning to happen.
In some ways it will seem like all that you have taken to be solid and true upon your planet will be falling apart and much of this is falling apart to allow the truth to come forth. So it is truly a good thing and those who do not understand will find it very challenging, and as Mother Mary said, it will continue until humanity in general begins to ask why.
Why is this happening? What's this about? What do I need to understand? Life is not like what I thought it was. I thought I had things sorted out. I thought I had control of my life in some measure and yet all that I thought I had built my life upon is being shaken to its very foundations.
And this is because the foundations of life are not in this temporal expression. The foundations of life are built upon the spiritual, and it is the re-emergence of that foundation in a very powerful way that you will begin to see. That is the essential nature of this transformation and as people connect with this foundation, so their preparation will begin in earnest and so their lives will begin to work and this contrast will grow in its evidence and its magnitude. So trust, my friends. If you are reading or listening to this message, you have either already made that choice or you are open to that choice and I encourage you to make it. Acknowledge your Creator and begin to prepare, and in that your life will begin to work in ways that will surprise you, because the energies coming will ensure that will be so.
And so it is.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A leaked pipeline sent oil spilling into a Salt Lake City creek, coating geese and ducks and closing a park, officials said Saturday as they started a cleanup effort expected to last weeks.
At least 400 to 500 barrels of oil spewed into Red Butte Creek before crews capped the leak site. Nearly 50 gallons of crude oil per minute initially had spilled into the creek, according to Scott Freitag, a Salt Lake City Fire Department spokesman.
''Our real concern is keeping people safe, and keeping the oil from reaching the Great Salt Lake,'' he told the Deseret News.
Chevron determined the pipeline broke at 10 p.m. Friday, and police and fire crews were notified of it shortly before 7 am. Saturday.
Officials were unsure of the cause of the leak, near the University of Utah campus, or the extent of the spill's environmental impact. Mayor Ralph Becker said drinking water for residents was not affected.
''Our fire teams have capped the site and will work to determine the damage and the best course of action,'' the mayor said in a statement.
The state Division of Water Quality was onsite assessing damage and will issue a violation notice against Chevron, Gov. Gary Herbert said in a release. The governor said he was monitoring the spill, which he called ''devastating.''
Chevron spokesman Mark Sullivan said some residual oil was still leaking and the cleanup likely will take ''weeks.''
''We're taking full responsibility for any financial damage, environmental damage, safety concerns, impacts on health and cleanup,'' Sullivan told the Salt Lake Tribune.
Crews were using absorbent booms and creating dams to contain the spill, but officials said some oil had flowed as far as four miles to the Jordan River, and into a pond in the city's Liberty Park, near where residents reported dead fish in their ponds.
A crew was trying to collect and take birds to Hogle Zoo cleaning stations and other facilities, said Brad Park, zoo spokesman.
About 150 birds have been identified for rehabilitation, said Jane Larson, Hogle's animal care supervisor. About 75 percent are Canada geese.
''A lot of them are just coated from about the water line, but there are a number of birds that started preening and have oil completely covering their bodies,'' said Tom Aldridge, migratory bird coordinator for the Utah Division of Wildlife Services.
Several ducks also were affected.
The underground pipeline flows to Salt Lake City from Colorado and feeds the city's oil and gas refineries.
Employees at the Veteran Affairs Hospital first noticed oil in the stream just before 7 a.m. Officials then traced the spill to the pipe near Red Butte Garden. Freitag said the pipeline was shut off about 7:45 a.m.

Brian O'Neill, an attorney with the enormous law firm Faegre & Benson who represented numerous Alaskans after the Exxon Valdez spill in 1989, spoke to the Huffington Post's Sam Stein about the prospects for Gulf Coast fisherman and other would-be plaintiffs harmed by the colossal BP oil spill in the region. He didn't exactly mince words.
"If you were affected in Louisiana, to use a legal term, you are just f*cked," he said.
As Stein reports, O'Neill is eminently qualified to speak on the subject, having spent so long pursuing claims against Exxon in the Valdez case.
"These big oil companies, they have a different view of time and politics than we do," he said. "Exxon sure weathered it really well. The market went up the next day for Exxon stock [after the settlement]. They just thrived despite treating an entire state poorly. And there is a lesson there for BP, and that is: it really doesn't matter whether you treat these people nicely or not. The only difference is if you extract oil."
O'Neill predicted that the number of legal claims against BP will far surpass the 32,000 processed in the wake of the Valdez spill. What's more, he notes, the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 — which Congress passed in reaction to the Valdez disaster — may actually put an artificial limit on legal damages in cases related to the BP spill.
Under the act, federal courts cannot impose damages in excess of $75 million on any oil firm responsible for a spill. Some states have their own liability caps that can supersede the federal cap. But Louisiana — which has always granted generous legal and financial benefits to the oil and gas industry — has none. There's been much debate in Washington about raising the cap substantially, but, as Stein notes, many legal scholars suggest that a higher cap probably can't be retroactively applied in the BP case.
And even if Gulf plaintiffs are able to collect reasonably substantial rewards, O'Neill cautions they'll have to wait a long time before checks are actually cut. "At some point in time, the administration and the states will resolve all their dealings and it will leave fisherman and the tourist industry to resolve their differences in the courts," he said. "It could be another 20 years till then because BP [is] going to defend this like Exxon did."
